Phillips 66 Executive to sign ESGR Statement of Support

HOUSTON – Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense Office, announced Larry Ziemba, Executive Vice President of Refining, Projects and Procurement for Phillips 66, will sign a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve. Ziemba, joined by ESGR National Chair Paul E. Mock, will sign the pledge during a ceremony at Phillips 66’s corporate office in Houston on Friday, Nov. 8.

The Statement of Support confirms Phillips 66 joins other employers in pledging:

• We fully recognize, honor and enforce the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act (USERRA).
• Our managers and supervisors will have the tools they need to effectively manage those employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.
• We appreciate the values, leadership and unique skills service members bring to the workforce and will encourage opportunities to hire Guardsmen, Reservists and Veterans.
• We will continually recognize and support our country’s service members and their families in peace, in crises and in war.

"Supportive employers like Phillips 66 are critical to maintaining the readiness and strength of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units and allow Guardsmen and Reservists the opportunity to serve our country more effectively and with greater peace of mind," said Mock. "By signing this Statement of Support, Phillips 66 sends a clear message they stand committed to their military employees and recognize the integrity, global perspective and proven leadership they bring to the workplace.”

“Our company values of safety, honor and commitment resonate with many in the military,” said Ziemba. “Our commitment to those in uniform also is evident through our sponsorship of American Jobs for America’s Heroes, a campaign aimed at placing our national guardsmen and women into skilled jobs in the private sector. We take pride in our recruiting of veterans from all branches and recognize the value they bring to Phillips 66.”
